Optical Technology Group Introduces JukeMeister
for Entry-Level Storage Management for Windows

BETHESDA, MD (Jan. 2, 1996) Optical Technology Group, Inc. (OTG) introduces JukeMeister, its premier entry-level storage management solution for CD-ROM or erasable optical jukeboxes running under Microsoft Windows. JukeMeister ships this week.

JukeMeister provides users with easy-to-use jukebox management systems for cataloguing, mounting, and sharing CDs or erasable media. It is based on the technical strengths of OTG's high-end storage management offerings, CDExtender and DiskExtender. OTG is widely regarded as a leading provider of Windows NT-based mass storage software.

"Users are demanding an easy-to-use storage management solution," said Richard Kay, president and CEO of OTG. "JukeMeister fits the bill as an inexpensive, highly functional, entry-level product that provides rapid access to multiple CD-ROMs or optical disks."

JukeMeister runs on any server running Windows NT 3.51 or above, and can be accessed by clients running Windows 95, Windows for Workgroups, and Windows NT. Users can easily connect to the server, view the jukebox, mount the drive, and read the files desired. JukeMeister supports reading files from CD-ROM jukeboxes, and reading and writing files to and from erasable optical jukeboxes.

A graphical interface makes it easy to handle routine administrative tasks. Tasks are accomplished with simple drag-and-drop commands or by selecting an activity from a pull-down menu. The software also includes utilities to perform basic hardware diagnostics.

JukeMeister manages more than 100 jukeboxes from leading vendors and manufacturers. The system can be linked to a single workstation or connected to a network. Pricing for JukeMeister starts at $259. The software is available from OTG and its worldwide distribution network.

OTG is the only vendor offering a full range of data management software. CDExtender and DiskExtender provide an extensive range of solutions for storage and retrieval of information including: caching, partitioning, event scheduling, media copy, and compaction.

OTG offers a family of Windows and Window NT-based solutions, including imaging applications and utilities, mass storage management software, and COLD products. Its channel partners serve the financial services, health care, insurance, legal, federal, and education markets. OTG was founded in 1992.
